Why I Started BobBentz.com

For many years now, I have owned the domain BobBentz.com.  Until now, it has simply forwarded to my Linked In page.

I purchased the domain just to protect it from somebody else, but I never put an actual site up on it until now.  The reason being is that I was concerned that it would appear to be conceited to have a personal website, although I do know many people in the internet marketing business do have one.

One of the side benefits of this site is that a non-technical person like myself can experiment with doing some technical web work, even if it is just a WordPress template.  I can also do some experiments with my part-time passion of search engine optimization (SEO).

In fact, the graphic attached to this post is actually my original idea for the banner that you see above.  As you can see, however, I didn’t make it the right size so here it sits on this post.  I’m learning.

The goal of the site is to generate publicity not for me, but for my business.  I hope that having such a site will yield speaking, interview, and authorship opportunities.  Therefore, the site will not include the most important thing in my life — my family.

Perhaps I should also purchase BobBentzSucks.com.
